2024's Best Games Could Change EVERYTHING
2024 has got the potential to shine the light on some epic game franchises that generally take a back seat to The Big tripa Industry today I want to talk about my most anticipated titles for the year all right easily my most anticipated game for the year is stalker 2 this game has been in the works for a long time and was supposed to be released in 2023 but got pushed back to this year the stalker IP is a dark alluring sci-fi philosophical journey and the original Source material like the book is absolutely fantastic and
worth a read and the first stalker game released in 2007 basically wrote the rules for what survival Shooters are today pretty much every game you play today that's a survival shooter where you go around a dilapidated World Scavenging for scraps and things takes some of if not most of its inspiration from stalker and despite the love for the original game fans never really got a proper sequel so to see the new stalker game dropping trailers that look absolutely gorgeous gets me unbelievably pumped there was a Gamescom demo last
year that looked a little undercooked though where the visuals took a little bit of a downgrade compared to the trailer footage so it's entirely possible that the game may be a bit rough around the edges when it launches but that would be par for the course with the stalker franchise it's still a creepy intoxicating world that I can't wait to get back into I'm very curious to see if it'll retain the difficulty of the first game and how much it leans and borrows from the mods that have added so
much to the original game since it launched now my next game will come as no surprise to fans of the channel and that is Squadron 42 I know I know it doesn't have a confirmed release date for 2024 but a man can dream last year it was announced that Squadron 42 was feature complete and entering the Polish phase of development so unless that polish takes over a year there's a good chance that we'll be playing Chris Robert next epic Space Opera adventure and the trailers for The Experience do not disappoint it features a star
studded cast with actors like Gary Oldman Mark Hamill Jillian Anderson and the best spaceship Graphics that I've ever seen plus some crazy scale and atmospherics to go with it the only part of the game that I'm not convinced will be amazing is well the actual gameplay itself this studio still really hasn't proven itself in the gameplay Department yet but I have a feeling that the narrative and spectacle alone might just be enough for me I've become quite fond of the Star Citizen universe and the
lore is Rich and interesting a long narrative experience that explores this world further sounds absolutely fantastic plus I've been waiting to play this for over 10 years so of course my hype is through the roof next up is a game that was recently announced but looks like it's going to have some major impacts on the industry if it can deliver on its ambitious vision and that is gry Zone Warfare fair being developed by a studio that's only made mobile games so far the devs certainly have to overcome some hurdles
to prove themselves in this field and despite the developers claiming that they aren't trying to compete directly with escape from tarov well the game is an extraction shooter that looks very similar to tarov in most respects the main difference being that the servers have no time limits it takes place on a massive Jungle Island much bigger Maps than tarov it's running on the unreal 5 and it has a western PMC aesthetic versus the Russian environment and thanks to its engine of choice and really embracing all the latest tech and
Unreal Engine 5 the game just looks absolutely stunning there's endless jungles around you and supposedly the game is going to run with all of that geometry and shading going on it seems like helicopters can drop you off at location and pick you up after combat I have a feeling that they might be somewhat dynamic in that regard as in like you call one in and it'll just land at the closest clearing or something like that anyway there's a lot of unknowns with gry Zone and it's fun to speculate but it does look amazing and I
believe there's going to be some play tests for people to actually hop in and check it out before it launches now the next game on my list is Hades 2 if you ever played the first Hades then we'll simply put you know Hades is in my opinion one of the best Rog likee experiences out there it's fantastic gameplay EXC story it plays well on things like the steam deck it's just an all-around fantastic game and it has the awards to prove it it takes my love of action RPGs like Diablo and removes the boring grind by constantly
mixing up your fighting style and forcing you to try new builds and looking at the original trailer for Hades I never thought it was going to be a game that really appealed to me but once I started playing it I simply couldn't put it down the next game on my list is from an IP that used to be an RTS Powerhouse and that is home World 3 few games have come close to replicating the massive scale space combat and strategy that this franchise created if you like the idea of moving Fleet carriers Cruisers and Fighters around in deep space and
extremely strategic and nuanced ways then this game is for you formation choices will impact your combat and Fleet composition is of the utmost importance the new game seems like it's adding a lot of environmental features create cover an interesting environment unfortunately it's really more of an indie title these days but they're certainly staying true to their ship design of the original franchise which is also one of my favorite things about the game the spaceships in home world just look fantastic now the next game for me is
Space Marine 2 I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about the Warhammer 40K Universe it's vast and Deep full of lore and politics and I really have no clue as to what's going on but godamn the visual visuals are pretty and the latest Warhammer games have been knocking it out of the park when it comes to their World building Space Marine 2 is a third person action game that throws you into a Dynasty Warrior sized battle and it just looks like you're playing a movie the entire time it's like if Gears of
War dialed the combat up four times which is crazy to think about in its own but every time I see a video of this game it just looks like an absolute blast you're fighting the tyranids aka the Zerg of Warhammer 40K well technically the Zerg are the tyranids of the Starcraft Universe since warhammers lore and art pretty much predates blizzards by about a decade but nonetheless you get the picture you're fighting giant space insects that attack you in the hundreds and you got to rip them to pieces with your awesome space
marine armor now there's of course lots of unknowns this year it's possible there'll be some sort of Battlefield game announcement or anything else but as far as what is scheduled to come out this year those are the games I'm most excited for right now I am also keenly aware of Dragon's Dogma 2 which looks very impressive in terms of the kind of gameplay that it's offering for a fantasy RPG style experience I don't think I'm going to be playing it but it's one of those games that I can
certainly appreciate for some of the Innovations it's bringing to its own genre also I feel like the finals can get a little bit of a mention here since it drops so close to the end of the year and honestly it's probably going to be one of the top games for 2024 I'm very much looking for to all of the future Seasons updates and new content that that game will bring I'd be curious to know what games you're most looking forward to in the comments let me know don't forget to leave me a like if you
enjoyed this post hit that like button and up next check out this post about a solo Dev that ported his entire game over to a free engine it only took him 600ish hours and as always thanks for reading I'll see you next time this is level cap sign in off.
